Creative Retreat in Spain

Creative Retreat in Spain

$ 3,500.00
Overview

Join artist and designer Marquin Campbell for a creative retreat hosted in the most inspiring setting: a former antiques store nestled at the base of a mountain in central Spain.  The property is based just outside of Soria, a very traditional Spanish town known for its beautiful vistas, amazing food scene, and quaint downtown.

The sleeping quarters are adjacent to Marquin’s art studio that overlooks Monte Valonsadero situated on a six acre property that guests will enjoy during their stay.  The property has little gardens featuring roses, different types of indigenous trees, and a rolling lawn that is sure to spark creative interest.

Daily, we will enjoy a traditional Spanish breakfast.  Our mornings will then be spent in the studio focusing on a daily theme (note we will only be working on paper so that art can be easily shipped or packed in luggage to transport home.)  Guests can feel free to participate in the morning group activity, or they may break away to focus on their own creative work: this retreat is entirely go at your own pace and do as you please.

We will take daily trips to town for long Spanish lunches in different restaurants which will last about three hours.  Each lunch will be served ‘family style’ with lots of different dishes, breads, wines, and delicious desserts. Our town is known for it’s obsession with food and you will dine very well during your time here!

For the afternoons, we will embark on daily excursions to picturesque locations that will inspire your creative work.  We will have an English speaking guide to share insights and details about each site we visit.

Nightly dinners will be served back at the house (the Spanish do not eat until at least 10:30pm or as late as midnight, and that is too late for American travelers!!) Because lunch will be so robust, dinners will be plentiful, but not the large 'Thanksgiving style' feasts like lunch.

All food, lodging, transportation to and from Madrid during your stay in Soria is included in the pricing.  Please come with an open mind ready to receive much inspiration from Spain.   You will leave this retreat filled with creativity!
