The Metropolitan Arts Council in Greenville holds an annual contest called Flat Out Under Pressure. The top winners have their art reproduced onto Recycling Bins in the downtown area and the winner gets an all-expense paid trip to Italy. Artists have 24 hours to create a piece of work to be submitted to the contest.
I have been dying to paint a Mill Town and this contest was the perfect outlet for that idea to come to fruition. I want to share the building of my mixed media painting that took about five hours to create from start to finish.
The finished product!
I didn't take any of the prizes, but it is such a fun competition, thats not what it really is about. Thank you to The Metropolitan Arts Council for all you do for artists in our area and for sponsoring such a fun competition!
