The One Room Challenge: Week Seven Final Reveal

This One Room Challenge had lots of hiccups along the way. The rug I ordered unfortunately did not arrive on time, so we are using a sisal in its place and I will add an updated of it installed in the room.  Also, my electrician's baby came a tad early so he could never cap my terrible ceiling fan, so Ill also include an updated version of the fan capped.  But everything else truly looks so great, and I could not be more thankful to have a cozy, very comfortable master bedroom.  My friend Amanda Louise hooked me up with her workroom and gave me great direction about the tailoring and finishing of my curtains, Roman Shades, Pillows and Dust...

The One Room Challenge Week Six: Fabrics and Finishings

So this is the last blog post till the grand reveal! This ORC for me has personally been a bit of doozie.  The rug I ordered a LONG time ago looks like it won't be delivered on time (although I'm keeping my fingers crossed.) And my fan looks like it can't be capped. (I literally can not stand the ugly lights at the bottom of it.) Oh, and I did eventually find the monogrammed shams: they were temporarily lost, but they are now in hand. (Alleluia!)  I am highlighting some fabrics we are using and the details on them I love most.  Here is a bolster neck roll I designed that has a linen leopard print and a burt orange velvet.  Here...

The One Room Challenge Week Five: Monograms

This week we're talking Monograms, and my oh my do I just love a monogram.  I discovered Shuler Studio on Instagram and fell in love with Pam's beautiful creations.  We emailed back and forth and discovered a mutual appreciation for one another's work and she agreed to partner up with me on the ORC.  I sent her images of the below shams I was working on for the ORC, and gave her all creative direction for creating a monogram (but I did say I lean towards classic, but fresh design.)  Pam designed the above monogram which I love love love to be placed on the center top portion of the shams.  She then connected me with Joanne of Modern Monogramming...

The One Room Challenge Week Four: Art

Art truly makes the space, so the artwork for the room has been the most important part of it for me. I created a custom 40 x 30 inch abstract landscape for the room drawing in the hunter green of the bedding and warmer pinks.  And I have long been following Alexis Walter and purchased this piece back in September to go over the mantle in the room.  I love that it has tiny pops of color and charcoal markings in in.  The art definitely adds a layer of texture and dimension to the bedroom, and I could not be more pleased with how the paintings turned out!I also had four panels installed in the room this week (they look great)...
