Nests for Mother's Day

Mother's Day is quickly coming and this year the Mamas have put in their fair share of work.  I know that during this Covid-19 time, I've become a homeschool teacher, a short order cook, and constant entertainer.  My family better gift me well, and art is the best gift any time!! Here are some styled images of the nests in my home.  I hope you like them and gift one for your Mama this year!  Hope you enjoy these textural, fun little Robin's Nests!

New Works

Since quarantine has begun, I have just been trying to approach the canvas without any plans and see where the brush takes me.  It has more of an intuitive painting process- my favorite way to come to the canvas.  This has been a super stressful experience (for all of us!) and I'm so grateful to have my paintbrushes to carry me through it.  I do think this is some of my strongest work to date, so creative flow is one of the things many things I will be thankful for during this odd time.  I hope wherever you are, whatever you are doing, you are safe, healthy, finding joy in the small things, and trying to do something creative for yourself...

It's Fall, Yall

Fall is supposed to have arrived, but in the South we are still experiencing blazing heat and there is truly no sign of cooler temperatures.  This morning, I walked my dog around a park and gathered some grasses, sunflowers, and interesting things growing by the trail to make a Fall Arrangement to summon the season.  It is positioned in front of a new painting I just completed with a fall inspired color palette: coral, grey blues, and burnt umber tones.  Here's hoping fall is upon us soon!
