Summer is for Hand Painted Wicker.
When I saw this little wicker bag while perusing Parfois, I knew it would be a fun piece to paint for my monthly 'artist folly' series.
Shortly thereafter, we visited beautiful El Escourial, the vacation home of the Spanish king, just outside of Madrid. The blush pink China Roses were in bloom and made a stunning backdrop against the bag.
I hope to work with more brands and develop artist collaborations with them. In the meantime, this is a great way to envision my work on wearable things like bags.
A Mother Daughter trip to Paris: it has been a trip high on my travel agenda, and decided this year it wast time to make it happen! Paris just conjures up so many things that excite girls of all ages. It is truly the city that has it all: museums, shopping, food, people watching. The city, just like the people who live in it, is chic, effortless, and brims with visual delights. I was trying to plan something special and memorable for my daughter’s sixth birthday and landed on taking her to Paris for a Mother Daughter trip. We stayed in Paris for three nights, walked all over the city, and squeezed in a little sight seeing, shopping, and museum...
Salamanca is a treasure of a little city. It is easily walkable, has lots of great little restaurants, and many lovely things to see. It is also quite pretty to top it off.

I have been hinting at the collaboration that has come together during the spring with The Spanish Shoe Brand, Souris.
Early this spring, I was connected with the sisters who design these beautiful Spanish-made shoes, and we decided it would be fun to paint some of the ballet flats they were planning to offer this spring.
The designs are here, and can be customized with a monogram and floral motif.
Souris will ship internationally, so these are available to US collectors. They will easily carry you into the fall months. Thank you to the Souris team for being such a fun crew to work with on this creative collaboration.
Remember this post about the Bathing Suit Wavy Line Pattern I helped Greenville, SC children's clothing brand, Prodoh develop? It was a special day that I just wanted to bottle up and keep forever: we found a small beach, the kids splashed in the salt water, and there were so many laughs, smiles, and giggles. And seeing the suit pattern 'in the wild' made it even more special. I have wanted to be a part of the design process for children's clothing for years, and it is a...
